Recommended Posts

There appears to be a steady flow of Covid Medals that are beginning to be issued around the world.

To that end have created this thread so as to keep them all in one place.

India has issued one as well, but as yet I’ve been unable to find a picture of one.

The medal is issued in one of three styles of 'Ribboning' - Austrian, Bow & 'International'.

The medals illustrated here are, I believe, an earlier striking - The Medal eyelet (Öse) is different to the current example above.

This award has also been issued with Clasps for other areas of operation  - "FLUT 2013"  (Flood Assistance 2013) and "RUMÄNIEN"  (Romania).746527646_3TypesofRibbon.thumb.jpg.bb752214942b6a985de15363cc84fef7.jpg

The European Union for Human Rights, based in the Czech Republic, issued a badge in March 2020. It is a meritorious badge for help during the Covid 19 pandemic. I enclose the photo. Contact: european.union@post.cz

I would support an award for the law and order people who round up the "No Vaxxers" and bring them to the airport, ditto for the air crews who carry out what the French army called "Crevette Bigeard"... would also be a really collectable medal when this is all over...

I am on active duty the second time this year to support the Bundeswehr Corona Task Force. I wonder if we will really get a medal for that.

    • Sounds great other than the Orange & Mango squash only because I prefer cran-pomegranate juice.
    • "(...) disgusting herbal concoction (...)" I took note of this description, to enrich my otherwise limited, English "Wortschatz"...
    • At work the standard indian tea such as PG tips is referred to as chimp tea. This goes back to the days when we had a Spanish girl working for us whose command of the English language was extremely limited. One lunch she said she was going to the shop could she get anything. I asked if she could get a pack of tea bags. She returned with some disgusting herbal concoction. I tried to explain what was required but without success. I then remembered PG tips had a picture of a chimpanzee on the packe
    • When I read Lapsang Souchong i decided to post something about these Tea . Many years ago I dont  know about Lapsang until I read James Michener book Centennial and the description of the savour of the Lapasang as a mix of tar and salt & smoked made me proof . It was exact ! and i liked it since then .
    • I have been known to drink Lapsang Souchong and Tea, Earl Grey, Hot... both "without pollutants". I normally have one mug of coffee in the morning, then spend the rest of the day drinking Orange & Mango squash (by the pint). Then evening comes and it's a pint, followed by red wine with dinner and sometimes a drop of Laphroaig afterwards.
