GdC26
For a project I'm working on, could anyone please help me out with a career and awards list (and if possible, a pic or pics, preferably with foreign awards in wear) for the good GM referenced in the header, former Flügeladjutant of Emperor Franz Joseph and apparently (after the latter's death) Kommader of the 11th (and so I gather, later 13th) KuK Kavallerie-Brigade? I found the two pics shown below on the web, but otherwise did not find much beyond some bare dates. Any help you can give is very much appreciated. Kind regards, Sandro
Christian1962
Hello, foreign orders were just listed in "Haus-, Hof- und Staatshandbuch". Here is a copy from the 1914 issue which should display all decorations bestowed until 1913: I could find some more in the 1916 issue: Here follows the link: https://alex.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/alex?aid=shb&datum=1916&size=45&page=61 and I can add his last list of Austrian decorations - effective with March 1918: Link: https://library.hungaricana.hu/en/view/RanglistenHeeres_1918/?pg=59&layout=s&query=Hoyos Regards Christian Edited September 14, 2021 by Christian1962
GdC26
Excellent, many thanks Christian! If Glenn or another membe has some info on his career to share, that would give me all I'm looking for for the moment. Many thanks again, best wishes, Sandro

Elmar Lang
I see that Gf. Hoyos was also wearer of the "Franz Josef Kreuz", also known as "Militantibus a Latere Meo", something not common to see...

Therefore he received the Franz Josef Kreuz. I accidentially met a Countess Hoyos last week and she told me it is said that he was one of the first to see Kronprinz Rudolf after his suicide in Mayerling. Elmar Lang
Interesting information indeed! I am not surprised that the Emperor would have sent his aid-de-camp to see what happened to the Erzherzog Thronfolger...
