Does anyone know if this medal has been faked? Saw this one and thought it looked pretty good

A real minefield. Blass faked a lot of these obscure life saving medals way back. I got stuck with one from Weimar, you can see it on the right here. You need to get exact weights and measurements, and very detailed scans in order to make any kind of judgement.

As Vince stated, these have been counterfeited often over the years.  The piece that you are showing looks to be such a counterfeit from what I can see.  In my opinion, it would be best to stay away from this piece.  An original piece as part of a group and/or with documents is the way to go with this type of item.  It may take a while to find one though!

I have a Saxony Excellent Work Medal. Has anyone seen it stored in the medal bar?

I’ve never seen that medal mounted, just loose and a couple cased ones over the years

Hi Jaba! Beautiful group. I was referring to the Saxon Labor Medal though.
