Idkanything Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Sorry if this is a rather long post but I want to include everything which has happened. I recently purchased this medal bar with a tailor label I have not seen before, during shipping some of the medals fell out. Afterwards I noticed that the honor cross was rather loose as well, suggesting that none of the medals had stitching done on the jump rings. I managed to "reinsert" the medals, putting them back beneath their respective ribbons. They do not come out when tucking on them or holding the bar horizontally. Here the results: I was able to get the opinion of Tom Yanacek and in his opinion it is a original bar but the medals had been removed and added back at a later stage with stitching being added beneath the medal eyelets to keep them from falling out. After looking through the medal bar index here I was not able to find a match for "S&M" nor anywhere else. My main question as of right now is who "S&M" could be? Thank you for your time, all help and opinions on the bar are greatly appreciated, John 1
VtwinVince Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I've never heard of this tailor either, but the bar is genuine.

Thank you, I have looked through the 1934 address list of Berlin but I did not see any tailor whose abbreviation could be "S&M". Is there something else than the address lists that could mention tailors in Berlin from 1934 onwards?
Bernd_W Posted September 27 Posted September 27 (edited) Just a thought. But would Godet show up as a tailor in the address list? I guess you know this link? https://digital.zlb.de/viewer/berliner-adressbuecher/ Edited September 27 by Bernd_W

I have looked at the male and female tailors, "Vereinsbedarf" and "Orden und Ehrenzeichen" but nothing as of right now. To add some more pictures to the thread, here is the iron cross I photographed while it was not on the bar. It looks like a "WB" or "WE" with a second mark on the ring which looks like a "52" to me:
