    Greetings!

I would like to know if I have here an original II Class Order. Is this medal made of silver or a different material? It is very heavy. Is it also known what period and mint it came from? I could not see a hallmark on the ring.

    Thanks for any help possible!

Hello. This order exists in two versions. Variant I was produced until 1952 and the reverse shows RP (Republic of Poland). Variant II has the reverse PRL (Democratic People's Republic of Poland). Both the first and second variants were produced by Mennica Państwowa. There are variants in silver (very rare) and only in silver-plated tombac (tombac weighs about 41.71 g). I think that later variants were not made of silver. Otherwise, you have 2 degrees of this order. Hopefully this will help you.
