Is there anyway to find information such as personel rosters, After Action Reports etc. on the internet.

My grandfather served on the HMS Kenya, Venerable and Golden Hind (got a feeling I'm forgetting one) during World War II. I live in Australia and have attempted to contact relatives living in Wales and England to see if they have any information or can contact the The Navy Records Centre in England for me, for when I tried I had no response.

My grandfathers memory isn't so great anymore and I would really love to know what he did during the war. I'd hate for those times and what he did to simply be forgotten.

I think that could be a tough one. Don't know where to look on the internet and I'm not sure if those records have been released yet.

Have you tried the MoD or is that the Navy Records Centre?

Hi Matt

Try these addresses. I recived my fathers service record, it took almost 6 months or better to recieve and I plan on of these days to get the daily log reports fromthe days he was at sea.

The HMS GOLDEN HIND [ex Great Britain - the name was not used.] was a shore establishment in Sydney, N.S.W. a R.N. Manning Depot. Later renamed 'WOOLLOOMOOLOO'

On a similar note; is there any way to get ahold of anything on 1793-1840 NGSM recipients other than their bar entitlements and ships? ie. birth, death, years served, etc.
