JapanX
Just in case ... An exellent site devoted to early "exellence" railway badges. http://nkps-mps.ru/index.php Hope you find this one interesting. Cheers, Nick
Hauptmann
Nick, many thanks for the link. Sorry for my late reply. Got super busy with work upon my return and now I'm laid up, having taken a bad fall this past Friday night. Have a "high ankle sprain" which the doc says is as bad as a break. Four to six weeks recovery. Very interesting site. I've also seen a few books on the subject... sadly none in English yet that I know of. Here's a couple that cought my eye. If I could find them cheap enough when I have $$'s I'd love to get them.

Hauptmann
They look like terrific books but unless I can find a way to learn Russian fluently pdq and that at 50... I'm out of luck other than getting them to look at the pics. Here's hoping some will eventually come out in English down the road. Hauptmann
I know this isn't an award... but it's now part of my Soviet RR collection so hoping ya'll won't mind if I show it here. This is a key/tool set used by Conductors on Soviet passenger trains. Dan

Hauptmann
I also have all the Excellent Railway Worker badges save two... with one of those pending which will leave me needing only the Excellent Signals badge to complete the set. Once I finalize on the second to last one and it arrives I'll do a group scan front and back and post them. Stay tuned! Dan

Hauptmann
Very cool! Deeply appreciate the additional info on the keys. I'd never seen any till I saw some that Chuck has in his collection... and then these fell into my lap out of the blue. Thanks!!!! Dan

JapanX
You have so-called "large badge". There was also different version known as "small badge". It has slightly different inscription on the banner.
