    1. Andreas, This is the best I can do, it looses it's definition if I go larger. Thanks for your help. Blessings, Patrick
    2. Question for all you who know about European medals between the period of 1874-1898. Imperil German orders and medals had an order of preference just like ours today: 1.) All Prussian orders and medals 2.) Orders and medals from the other German states 3.) European medals If the photo has the 1897 Wilhelm I Centenary Medal (a Prussian Medal) first, then the Bavarian Military Merit Cross (a medal from another German state) second; Could this third medal be a European medal? It appears to be the same size as the Centenary medal and I have not been able to find another German medal that fits the size of 44mm. So, I am thinking that this third medal has to be a European medal. Thus I need assistance from someone who knows about European medals.
    3. Thank you both for the quick response. If the second medal is the Bavarian Military Merit Cross, then what is the third medal? It appears to be silver and about 38mm around the same size as the century medal only slightly smaller. To my untrained eye it appears to be the Hessen Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen für Rettung von Menschenleben 1894 , but that is only 33mm and not as large as the one in the picture appears to be. Can you all help me identify the third medal? Blessings, Patrick
    4. Can anyone assist in identifying these medals? This is a Leibgendarmerie of the 1 Zug, one of the Kaisers own. I believe the photo was taken around 1898. The first medal on the far left is the 1897 Centennial Medal, the other two I do not recognize. He is also wearing a Prussian long service award. Thank you for your help. Blessings, Patrick
