    eBay Auctions features what is called an 1840s badge starting at US$150.00, but I wonder? Petty officers did not make much money back then and investing in a silver engraved badge seems unlikely when it was expensive enough to have a cloth badge hand-embroidered by a tailor? Any ideas, anyne? :Cat-Scratch:
