    Buttonhole Ribbo0ns 01

The German practice of wearing some decorations from the second tunic buttonhole was clearly getting out of hand when by 1915, even a lowly Gefreiter like Herr M?ller here was spreading two out smack in the center of his chest. Officers in mixed state divisions by this time often had three or even four ribbons fanned out from this convenient enemy aiming point.

Something clearly had to be done. The regulation ribbon bars which were to be known subsequently as "Old Style" were--if anything--even WORSE for ostentatious display in the field.

The solution was to be the Model 1915 ribbon bar: 15mm wide and 18mm high.
