Medal: Prussian XII Years Service

Prussia 9and the imperial navy and colonial forces) all used the same dark blue ribbon for SIX long service awards. Officially NONE of these were ever authorized for any distinctive device-- like the later Wehrmacht and Police eagles, civil service crosses, and SS devices (on the same ribbon).

But there wwas an obvious need for such distinguishing devices. From the 1930s, useful non-regulation devices like this can occasionally be found.
