Medal: Czech Annexation 1938
This unauthorized device is simply aa crazy period fashion affectation. There was no reason for it whatsoever. The Czech Anschluss Medal's ribbon could not be mistaken for anything else, nor does this silly device "clarify" anything.
It is indeed sseen on original period bars. I suspect that it was originally intended to be mounted in the center of lapel bow ribbons, and from there spread to improper ribbon bars.
Unfortunately, because so many were apparently never USED by period military effects outfitters, it is very very often used to "dress up" fake Hollywood-version ribbon bars.
Be extremely wary whenever you see this ridiculous device!
