Wreath: Round Green Austrian 01
The ONLY green enamelled (in this case merely green lacquered) wreath for any Austro-Hungarian ribbon SHOULD have been found on THIS ribbon-- for the Red Cross decorations founded in 1914. In keeping with Austrian practice, a green wreath was attached to those Orders (and an integral part of the rims of the affiliated Medals-- see scan of a mini under the "Medal" devices section) to indicate that the award was for war services. The intention, in 1914, was that these "permanent" awards would have gone on forever with peacetime classes.
