This unknown Bavarian officer wearing the uniform of Pioneer Battalion 5 was the recipient of a bavarian Bravery MEdal in WW1. This portrait dates after October 1941 since he is wearing both the 1939 Bar to the 1914 Iron Cropss 2nd Class in his 2nd buttonhole. His ribbon bar is the fancy doubled folded style most commonly worn by veterans from southern Germany.
