    See the scan of all three colors on one ribbon bar closeup. Note the triangular area below the blades and on top of the crossguards has not been cut out-- the primary way to tell at a glance this is the final type device.

    Although these are mounted on a Hungarian WW1 Commemorative Medal ribbon, the hollow stamped, unpierced-hilts type swords with integral nubs at the "X" of the sword blades rather than soldered on prongs date no earlier than 1942.

    This middle aged WW1 veteran had his awards mounted up in the back half of WW2.
