    The "flattened" type pirate cutlasses are the usual German form from the 1920ss on.

    The inscription is simply the year 1915 i.e. "1332." These clasps can be found in gold or silver and on two different ribbons. This is a Liakat Medal in Silver, a nasty little medal that was, despite its appalling looks, roughly equivalent to a 1st Class Iron Cross.
