Oldenburg's Friedrich August Cross 2nd Class on combatant ribbon used this device, like Brunswick's wreathed horse and swords device, to show long frontline service 1914-1918.

Worn here with 25mm ribbons, this device is still too large-- because it is full size as worn on medal bars.
