This is one of SIX Prussian/Imperial long service medals all using the same ribbon and none authorized for any form of this useful but non-regulation type distinguishing device.

These medals were last bestowed in 1914, before the outbreak of the World War.

Practical... but all classes of these Prussian long service miniatures are scarce.
