Concealed: Covered In Shame !!!

This shrouded Italian Order of the Crown was simply covered over (note silver crown device intact underneath) by Vizeadmiral zS Lietszmann after Italy changed sides in 1943 and the former Axis parally's awards were banned for wear in the Wehrmacht.

It was easier than cutting his lower row of ribbons apart and sewing them back on, but leaves a surprising "gap" which can be seen in period photos of him.
