Star: Turkish WW1 War Medal

This is another oriiginal period "fashion nonsense" device, needlessly "dressing up" a ribbon. This particular fellow had pointless miniatures of his two German WW1 awards on the ribbon bar with this as well.

The star device can be seen on a photo of an Ottoman officer in the Photos In Wear section, so this was a craze that crossed national boundaries!
