Mother Armenia statue in Yerevan
The Mother Armenia statue in Yerevan stands as a symbol of Armenian strength and a touchstone for all Armenian soldiers. Inside the huge pedastal is the Armenian military museum; originally focused on WWII and the Red Army, now the focus is on Armenia's conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno Karabakh. In 1962, Mother Armenia replaced a statue of Stalin on the same site. This photograph was taken in October 2010.
