Buttonhole Ribbons 04

Here is an example of rather eccentric overdressing for the photographer circa 1941:

Oberstleutnant Enno-Erich von Limburg-Hetlingen is wearing his WW1 Hohenzollern House Order 3 with Swords from his buttonhole, implying that he normally wore no ribbon bar in the field. The Spange to his 1914 EK1 obviously meant he had the "lowly" EK2 Spange, and so he wanted to display the highest awards he held (at that point-- he went on to get a German Cross in Gold and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross) from BOTH wars.

But for this portrait, he has slipped on his ribbon bar... and there in second place is his Hohenzollern AGAIN.

Extra points to those of you who noticed that he is wearing a LUFTWAFFE officer's bullion national cockade in place of the regulation metal Army one in his early war bullion cap wreath.
