See the BRONZE crown which CORRECTLY reflects the full size award. This device, too, is supposed to be for the War Honor Cross, but in keeping with the very common practice of using gold devices instead of bronze ones on dark ribbons, this crown is a gold color completely unlike the full sized award.

Since NO crown device was authorized, this didn't "matter!"
