Absolutely correct ! A very nice example indeed and a very hard maker to find. Congratulations.

Todays find. One of the nicest Second Patterns I have had in some time and the first silver one I've had with the early flat wire retaining clip. Had this on several Bronze clasps but all my previous silver Second Patterns have had round wire clips which suggests to me they moved from flat to round clips just after the silver grade was introduced.

Unfortunately, can't seem to post much in the way of detail due to the picture size limit.

Suspect it may be something to do with the formatting of your images. I checked those you posted and they are only around 70KB. You should be able to post much larger images. Do you have them saved as JPEGs ?

Now that really is something very special !
Any background on your GFP man?
I know for sure from supporting documentation that came with mine that he was in fact a member of the Gestapo and returned to the Gestapo after his stint with the GFP. I believe attachments from the various state security organs to the GFP was common.

It is the personal Stammrollnummer of the sailor. O-365. The O is for Ostsee (Batic).
All naval Stammrollnummer will have either an "N" for Nordsee or "O" for Ostsee before the numerals.

Same piece compared with the quality of second type you can buy today.

An early example of the second model

This one I particularly liked as it appears to be a transitional piece with new style frame but first type centre.

A rather well worn example. The minor flawing is clear on this one

Another early one. Again little or no flawing

Here are some images of some of the examples I have owned. These are old scans and not as sharp as they could be, but there is very little flawing on this one.

Looks good. These are usually hand signed rather than with a facsimilie stamp, so minor differences in the signature are to be expected.
I like the fact that it correctly uses the large font from the so called "F?hrerschreibmaschine" for the typewritten portions.
The word "Grossadmiral" is usually centered on the doc but thats not something I'd be unduly concerned about. In hand inspection is always best to be sure about these but I don't see anything from the photo that raises suspicion.

Very nice indeed. These smaller type boxes are harder to find than the bigger regular issue boxes with the big miniature pin.
Looks to be a nice early Tombak piece. I'm guessing it is a Schwerin ? Flat reverse or the type with the dished centre ?

I don't think anyone has come up with a definite identity for the manufacturer if this type (with the five wing segments). It is also a type that is heavily faked both in solid form and also hollow struck. It can be encountered with a variety of spurious maker marks.
Dick Trostem has done a study of the fakes of this type and if he sees this thread maybe he can elaborate.

Forgot to mention that one of the Wehrpass pages shows him as being at Polizeischule before going into the Luftwaffe, which presumably explains why at some point someone finally realised that he would be better used in the Feldgendarmerie than the Flak.

And the areas in which he served.
Interesting that the entry for southern Greece has been changed from "Defence" to "Security"

The icing on the cake was that also included were two loose pages from the same guy's Wehrpass showing all his unit affiliations

Entry for his KVK

Entries from both the Luftwaffe's 11 Feld Division, and the Army Feldgendarmerie

His MP service was originally with the Luftwaffe, but he then transfers to the Army's Feldgendarmerie Trupp c (mot) 941, but note the last entry - Feldgendarmerie Trupp (mot) Kreta !!

Soldbuch is an early one, opened in September 1939, and shows he originally served with a Flak unit.

Photo is in Army uniform the reason for which will become obvious. Note his last rank, so he was obviously commissioned at some late stage in the war.

Superb. Particularly interesting to see your GFP man was involved in anti-partisan operations. I'm guessing he was KIA during one of these operations ?
Here is the page from mine showing his release back from the GFP to the control of the "Chef der Sicherheitspolizei und SD". This guy was only ever in occupied France so presumably involved in trying to track down resistance members etc.
