A nice representative piece Scott! It threw me off a second - I'm used to seeing the large round catchplate on the zinc GB's. Rest of the badge looks spot on Brehmer!
ERIC

Hi
Very nice badges!!!
Congratulation.
Do you have the regiment of your grandfather in the 29th division?
Regards
Ben from Lorient
thanx ben!
i'm not certain of his regiment, as my uncle has his paperwork.
i recall him telling me he had originally been in Costal Artillery in the Panama Canal zone and later transferred in to the Military Police, and the 29th div

when i opened Galien David's site tonite, the opening page had a pic of a 1st U Boat Flotilla Hat Badge. i did a bit of research, and found they were in Brest France in 1944.
My Grandfather was in the 29th,and was in Brest in 1944 as well. he took many naval prisoners, and amoung the items he brought back were several of these badges. he gave me two of them 30 years ago, shortly before he died. i have always loved the colour, design and enamel of these badges, and had no idea of thier rairity

i got this in today, bought from a WAF member. i am really enjoying the common soldier's bars.
the obverse, i LOVE the detail of the Silver Military Merit Medal in particular :
a couple of pics of the reverse:
the EK was 'cleaned' at one time ,and a bit of residue remains. the ring is marked, i think it 's KO, but cant say for certain.

as far as the first one, i remember it being discussed, and the consenus was the ribbons are either new,or not period at the very least. i was also uncomfortable with the way the ribbons were wrapped on the bar.
have you held the ribbons under a black light?
