After a half days work, i was able to rub off two layers of red and black paint, to uncover the insignias of the US Constabulary force on this Westinghouse liner. It belonged to a Mr. Whatley, who enlisted in Nov. 1945 and served during the occupation of Germany.
Now on to the headgear. A M1917 Helmet and gasmask bag named to a Cpt. F. A. Thiessen. Research revealed that this Capt. Thiessen was later the Assistant Adjutant General for the New York NG and retired in 1950 as a Brigadier General.
