Hello Ed,
a nice find.
These veterans from the International Brigades and the Legion Condor are becoming less and less
In the near future the last will pass away and that`s it!

Waldeck
miserable, horrible Waldeck: what APPEARS to be
Merit Crosses:
1st Class 1896-1914
2nd Class 1896-1918
Officer Cross 1912-1918
3rd Class 1914-1918
4th Class ??? still can't figure out
Honor Cross 1899-1918
Gold Merit Medal 1914-1918
These are SO poorly organized that it is very often impossible to tell what year is on any page.
Oh my god - why was the Waldeck Roll Beamter such a pimp
I want my Waldeck Rolls

Hello Jason,
some years ago I saw the Regimental Medal of the Inf. Regt. Nr. 83 (von Wittich) on a similar bar and colours.
The Nr. 83 was the Waldeck Regiment.
Please find enclosed a picture of this medal. For further info try the Waldeck link:

The dutch medal was awarded 775 times. Does anyone have info about the other medals?
Hello,
the Waldeck Silver Merit Medal was altogether awarded 5422 times.
You can deduct around 4200 with swords - that makes 1222 for the civil version.

It would be nice if you could post a bigger picture, if the delivery has arrived. Those docs are rare!

A new 3-er Ordensspange which I got via epay.
I have to replace the wrong medal from Reuss with the correct Waldeck Silberne Verdienstmedaille mit Schwertern.
Nice worn ribbons with swords
The obverse:

So the idiot can charge much more
I think there are too many pieces you have to control, if you try to unite the group again.
It`s a shame

Hello Paul,
in the first picture the ribbon bar is shown in the wrong direction.
Now it`s correct; left to right:
- Order of the Special Royal Emblem for expatriate officers
- Police LS & GC Medal
- General Service Medal
It could be a possible combination, but who knows.

Hello Paul,
do you mean Ltn. RUDOLF Windisch - Jastas 32, 50, 66 ???
If so, he was born on 27.01.1897 in Dresden, the capital of the Kingdom of Saxony. So he was Saxon by birth.
Could`n find any other Windisch in my papers.

Hello,
here you can see what Franco Scandaluzzi wrote about the piece in his 3 Volume Book "The War of Spain 1936-1939 in the 50 th Anniversary of the Pronunciamiento".
This is from Vol. 1 (Spanish Republic, International Brigades and Foreign Countries).

Right, absolutely crazy, I won nothing although my bids were much higher than the prices I would have paid one year ago. Where does all this end?
I bid 730 Euro for the Waldeck VK 3. Klasse - it went for 750
In April the same piece was sold for 650 Euro!
I was nether in person at an auction and I can say, that 2/3 of my postal bids were a winner
But the prices are not normal these days and I don`t want to pay every asked price.
If you could wait, it will come back some day !!!
