Hello there,
I recently acquired this cool "BUY BONDS" sign and was trying to find a little more about it. From what I have gathered it is an American ww2 sign that would have hung (it's two sided) outside a local store or post office. I am guessing the "8" surrounded by the wreath depicts the series of War Bonds being offered? If anyone has any info on this piece it would be appreciated. Here are the pics.

Finally a big size close-up of the tank details. Again, any comments on the maker of this badge are welcome, hopefully I got it right as a B.H. Mayer!
Thanks,
Pat

Here is a nice shot of the eagle, typical BH Mayer I believe. A side shot as well.

Here is the back with pin and catch assembly.

Hello again fellows,
I've been picking up a few items recently and finally had some time to post some things on the site again. Here I have what I have deduced to be an unmarked B.H. Mayer stamped PAB in silver. I was doing some amateur identification and from what I could tell this is an original Mayer PAB with some period? repairs to the pin assembly, as well as a bent catch. A well worn mid to late war zinc example I would say. If anyone else can confirm the maker or correct me if I'm off that would be excellent.
Here's the pics,
Cheers, Pat

Sorry for the late reply Pikestaff, the heer buckle doesn't appear to have ever had paint on it. It's probably an older copy from the seventies or eighties.

First off, thanks to Brian for moving my old Canadian topics to their wonderful new home in this Forum.
Now about the bar, I don't know much about the regulations for the orders. This is how I found the medal bar, so that is very interesting that it is not in the right order. I did find a small Africa to create a Frankenstein set, definitely not a researchable set but a nice display nonetheless.
Thanks again,
Pat

Thanks Mervyn,
Yes it's too bad about the scratches, I'll know for next time. These Canadian issues are actually solid silver, so all the ones I picked up for cheap over the last few years are looking like a fine investment these days!
Talk to you later,
Pat

Thanks guys, I actually did track one down in Vernon so I am set up now!
Nice to have it completed, but one from the same manufacturer would be nice as Hugh suggested.

This might be the last one to move to the Canadian section. Thank you for your patience!

Almost done this update on my transferable Canadian item posts, here is one more to move to the Canadian section. I am just happy to see a specific section for the Commonwealth Realms, and most of my early posts belong there. Thanks again!

OK, so this is definitely a good reference topic to be moved to its new proper home of the Commonwealth Realms: Canada, Aus etc. forum. All the cap badges are Canuck, Aussie and NZ on this thread.
Cheers again!

Yet another Canadian topic that could be moved to the new Canadian section. Again, I thank Nick or whoever can move these topics in advance, I think you'll agree that these are better suited to the new section.
Cheers!

Hello again gents!
Sorry to bother you again with these but I believe this topic as well is much more suited to the new Canadian section of the GMIC. It only has a few entries so I think these old Canadian item posts of mine would serve more purpose in the new section.
Cheers!

Hello again,
Here is another Canadian topic that could be moved to the new CAN/AUS/NZ section of the site. This was a good idea to split the Commonwealth countries up to find things a little easier.
Thanks in advance,
Pat

Hi there,
Just doing some checking up on my old topics and I think this one is a prime candidate to be moved to the new Canadian/Aussie/NZ section of the site. If Nick or a moderator can move this and a couple more I am finding I think it would be better placed.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I am just requesting to move this topic to the non-portable awards forum as when I posted this topic that forum did not exist. Thanks!

Hello again,
It's been a while and I was thinking of maybe selling the Aerial Gunner award (bought a new truck and a little short right now) and I was wondering what price range to ask ( I will accept any private offers as well) for this piece. I would consider working out a trade for some Third Reich pieces, as US is not my main area of collecting.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Pat

Thanks for the explanation Uwe,
I just thought with the upturned pig-nose and cross-eyed look I assumed it was making fun of certain people, but I could have misinterpreted the meaning. Oh well, only paid $10 for it so no big deal.
