Hello, first time poster.
I'm doing research on German Navy buttons Imperial, Weimar and Third Reich periods, and I've been told that the main design used by naval officers are the same and have not changed since 1871 (certain auxillary units use slightly different colour / designs?). There seems to be a dearth of information regarding this as opposed to British navy buttons - so I'm asking seeking advice from members of the forum here.
Any website or online resource where I can have a visual look-up of the buttons used by the Navy from the Weimar Republic?
So far:
Imperial Germany era (from http://www.derrittmeister.com/navy.htm ) -
Prinz Heinrich Grand Admiral Tunic
http://www.derrittmeister.com/productpages/13806.htm (button roped rim and lined background)
CPO's Tunic:
http://www.derrittmeister.com/productpages/15498.htm ( Hohenzollern Crown (?), no rope, unlined)
Other tunics' buttons pretty much like the above.
Here is one of a Naval Doctor's Frock Coat from that period:

Comments welcomed.
Now, pictures or leads on the Weimar Republic (Reichsmarine) and Kriegsmarine would be great!
