The Belgian Red Cross in Northern European & Baltic States Posted July 18, 2011 Hi, I have been given a HET BELGISCHE RODE KRUIS Bronze Medallion in its original round cardboard presentation box which is in good all-round order. The front of this large, heavy Medallion depicts a Pelican resting on a shield containing a cross. The reverse has the inscription - 'HET BELGISCHE RODE KRUIS' around the upper rim of the Medallion & in the centre 'ERKENTELIJKHEID AAN DE BLOEDGEVERS'. Although I do collect militaria & Medals, I am led to believe this particular item may be a Belgian Red Cross Medallion and possibly awarded to a donor who has given 25 pints of blood. I wonder if anyone could verify I have the correct information & a possible value of such a Medallion? Kind regards, Neville. 0
