If the ribbon is black (in the photo i am seeing it as a greenish colour) an Olga Orden/Medal would fit.

That ribbon is not for the Saxon Honour Cross, but for a saxon long service award. Re the Schwarzburg award, it is probably the honour medal with incorrect swords attached, something often seen.

Just received this today after a struggle with customs. In the interest of generating some debate, had you to see the below bar at a show what would you assume the ribbons were? Would you give it a second look? Banderkatalogs are allowed.

From what i can tell about this medal it was awarded for military bravery, and I have read somewhere that the maker marks suggest that it is WW1 vintage. Also, that there could be a name on the back but they were sometimes also awarded like this in the immediate aftermath of a battle. Could anyone confirm/deny this information as well as give me a value for it as I am looking to sell it?

Very nice bar, and a great example of how in such cases they used smaller ribbons to get everything to fit!

The Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen (both bronze and silver) were not given out to officers. I am not sure about the Cross of the General Honour Decoration, but I think that it wasn't given to officers either.

Generally junior officers such as lieutenants would be given an Order of the Crown 4th class, whilst (apart from some lucky captains) majors and above were awarded the Order of the Red Eagle 4th class.

Nice ribbon bars. Can anyone tell me what the (I assume foreign award) in last place is? Is it the Swedish Order of the sword?

Given the Brunswick military merit cross, the green ribbon might also be the lifesaving award from the same state.

Lately I have been having some confusion over the medal pictured below. I have always known it as the 'Medaille fur aufopfernde Tatigkeit in Kriegszeit'. However, recently I have come across references to a Reuss 'Kriegsverdienstmedaille fur Frauen und Jungfrauen', of which I have been unable to find a picture. In fact, the only picture I found was showing this same medal pictured below, thus prompting my confusion.

Despite being apparently awarded at least 1000 times, I have never seen one on a medal bar (ribbon bars are more complex due to the common ribbon). So although the statutes say that it could be awarded to both sexes, I am beginning to wonder...

Could anyone please tell me if they are separate medals or the same one? And if anyone can, show a picture of the medal on a medal bar (even single-mounted).

and this is the 1899 jubilee medal: the ribbon is supposed to be like the 1905 medal but with bright green stripes instead of red:

The unknown medals with the striped ribbons ( those of Adalbert, Oskar and Wilhelm) could be the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha 1899 or 1905 Jubilee medal.

The eight one is a British medal. I forgot the name, but I think it has something to do with a coronation/jubilee?

What it is we may never know, but awards of the Military Merit Medal were given out in WW1. They were given out either with straight swords on the ribbon (as opposed to the 1870 curved sabers) or with a Geneva cross device. In limited numbers, granted (heaven knows i've been searching for ages for one of the latter), but still a possibility.

How about number 6 being a Schaumburg-Lippe Military Merit Medal?
