Paul, Yes - a quotation from the Koran - sadly my Arabic/knowledge of the Koran is insufficient to identify which verse! Regards, Owain
Dear Owain, dear all.
My cousin wife is from Morocco, she can't identify too, but she translated to me what the Surah says (in French, than i translate in English for you, so apologize for approximation)
Only God who rules this world and can neither sleep nor close eyes because he watches over this world, all that is on earth and in heaven and in the oceans belong to him, and the one who addresses him can be forgiven, it is aware of your thought
Best regards0 -

Gentlemen,
This is the Decoration of Military Duty, 1969, of the Libyan Arab Republic - modelled on the Egyptian medal. Many of the early medals of the Republic were modelled on the Egyptian series of military awards.
Regards, Owain
Many thanks for details Owain,
very instructing.
here is the photo of the silver one : is it like a "Class 2" ?
the ribbon fixations are light aluminium made, but don't seems repro (i hope it is not ! ) : is the correct ribbon red/white/black ?
sincerely
paul

Bonjour from France
this is my first topic, please be indulgent with my poor English !
I recently found this large 18" x 17" heavy brass. It seems to be a Libyan Coat of Arms but i wonder was the center has 3 vertical sections, so not the same than on the drawings.
I hope someone could help me to confirm provenance and date area.
many thanks in advance,
paul
