I wonder if anyone has any leads on a marking (sometimes encountered on Webley revolvers circa 1890's): what I would characterise as a stylised African head (in profile) with three small crosses underneath. I assume it refers to a regional Police force in Central or West Africa. I would be interested to learn if anyone has encountered it and what organisation it can be identified to.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I can't upload at the moment; I will if I can at a later date, but it is just as described. I'm not certain it refers to a Constabulary, I suppose it may be from a late C19th company force but it is very scarce.
