    1. The Prussian Garde Star insignae (with "SUUM CUIQUE" ) on the Langet denotes a Garde Regiment (Garde du Corps=military guard division) .This is confirmed as Lekebusch was an officer in the "Garde" Train Bataillon. The "TRAIN" Bataillon was in charge of all the logistical supplies .

The blade is an "Eisenhauer" Quillback blade and the sword was acquired through "M.NEUMANN HOFLIEFERANT" who were exclusive merchant/ suppliers to royal house .

The sword is an German Imperial Army Officers Lion Head sword (if it is a straight blade) or sabre (if the blade is curved).

    2. Hucks,

Thanks for the detailed info .That was awesome and I really appreciate it .

I have Vol 1 of the Kampflieger and was not aware that Vol 2 had been released and am exremely intersted in obtaining the book.

How does one get acces to Doug and Larry's Luftwaffe Officers career list ?

I am also very interested in obtaining more photos of Rannersmann especially postacrd type..

I am very lucky to own Rannersmann's personalized LW dagger and if you like I will post a photo.

Maybe someday I will find his other awards ,you never know .The hunt continues!

    3. I am looking for assistance in obtaining photos of Knights Cross bearer Hptm. Rolf Rannersmann Commander of KG4 "General Wever" as well as other information on career and decorations. Only info I have so far is that he received the German Cross in Gold on 1/10/44 and the Knights Cross on 12/3/45 and that he was Group Commander of 1./KG4 from 2/45 to 5/4 and Captain of the 7. Staffel 7/44 to 2/45.
