Hi guys, thanks a lot, from what I can see there doesn't seem to be a hallmark around the lid or the rim but there is a number three stamped on the inside of the lid. There may have been a hallmark on the bottom of the pot at some point, but the bottom has been replaced in copper somewhere along the line. The 24th is of particular interest to myself, as it was the regiment of my local area back home, and it forms part of my own collection of medals. It was only on the off chance that this caught my eye while in an Oxfam charity shop in Surrey, and I couldn't leave it there!

I picked this up in a shop today and was wondering if I could get any more information on it.
From what I can tell from the inscriptions, it's from the 24th Regiment of Foot, possibly 2nd Battalion.
See attached pictures.
Thanks.

24th Regiment of Foot Silver Teapot?
in Great Britain: Militaria: Badges, Uniforms & Equipment

Hi Mervyn, thanks a lot for all of the information, it's greatly appreciated. I have emailed a number of Silversmiths in London this week regarding the restoration of the teapot, and for some sort of estimate of costs too. I think it would be well worth getting it professionally restored as it would look brilliant in it's original condition. If it' turns out to be viable, I'll post pictures of the teapot after it's been restored. Thanks Alex.
