Post war swimming badge.
Not necessarily..........they wore two-piece swimsuits long before 1945.
Here are some from the 4th Century AD.

Photo above dates from 1932.

Maybe I'm not getting it, but seeing that skull patch on a woman's bathing suit just seems wrong.
Here you go.............

Is it not this one?
Thanks!
That's the photo I was looking for! :jumping:

Another skull I got today.
Anyone else got (or even seen) one?

Rarer to find are small skulls on caps!
Small skull and pilot wings on the cap! :speechless1:

I agree...............registered post = "steal me" in the regular postal service.
Too many 'temporary staff' (esp.from abroad) these days.
If it's worth registering, send it by courier instead.
I have NEVER had anything sent unregistered go missing in all my time collecting.

Just to keep this thread alive.............
I found this little critter a couple of weeks back. Not an easy one to get.
Numbered illustration is from the Assmann Catalogue.

Yet another badge I should have tried to pick up from people I worked with when I had the opportunity
Ditto.
I had the pleasure of working with several of these gentlemen on courses at Tulliallan.
A few of them had been on the 'torture course' at their home training establishments.
No joke!

This arrived in the post today.
Second one I've seen in 30 years.
It's a Wehrwolf collar tab skull, as featured in the Assmann Catalogue.
Silvered brass.
Smaller than a Panzer TK and based on LHR TKs from the 1890s.

In the (extremely) unlikely event that anyone wants to know anything about the history of Fife Constabulary, most of it is here.............

Probably way off the mark but the base of the entwined badge puts me in mind of the rope and piton represented on the Gebirgsjager arm patch.
I wondered about that too.
Now, I think it may be an unfinished stylised lyre.

Here are the straps.........
I think they are rare original sample KR5 straps...............unfinished. See the backs have no cloth and the buttonholes have not been cut out.
They came from a new found German tailor shop hoard.

When she was alive, Queen Victoria totally prohibited any planning or rehearsals for her funeral.
As a result, her funeral procession was a shambles, with horses bolting, etc. etc.
Edward VII's funeral was, consequently, one of the best rehearsed in British history! :cheeky:
