This is the oldest thing in mine...........I'm told it's Persian and dates to 500 BC.

It pays to look outside the 'militaria' sections on eBay.
This was 'hidden' among the 'pre-1800 etchings' stuff.......a hand-coloured portrait of a Black Hussar from the time of Frederick the Great.
Curiously, look at the spelling of 'Todtenkopf'.
A nice little thing, for under 40 Euros.

Even if skulls usually have a sad look, some here seem to be laughing a bit ! No ?
Some close-ups might be interesting in order to appreciate the degree of happiness of each skull ...
