The liner looks right to me for WWI and it's definitly vintage. But yes, the markings seem odd to me and I can't find any shell markings. I'm looking on the interior of the neck flange.

Hoping someone can give me a bit of detail as to the markings on this helmet and the exact pattern. Thanks!!!

Thanks! I collect US so it's now in the 'for sale' area (or TRADE for US!!!).

Just the shadows or my camera, like the spot visible on the viewer right of the reverse.

FRANK & REIF? Makes sense, but didn't know they did an unmarked version.

Frankly, I'm not liking this one but I have a hard time with the unmarked late stuff so figured I'd better ask!
FYI it has a dished out reverse but the photography does seem to make it look flat.
Thanks guys!

Does anyone know how they came up with the two dudes with an alligator motif?

Yes, I can see where the work was done. Any clue why? I would assume as a souvenier of
service in the unit? Valueless but interesting at least to me!

Sounds like taking measurements is a mute point! Thanks guys.

Sorry Andrew, seems like you've been hijacked!
If you're thinking of getting shot of those collars think Jim
Hijacked is o.k., I'm loving the thread. Sure, I'd sell the badges. Seems you've got some history there! Drop me an email at wartime@wartimecollectables.com with an offer (I have no clue what these are worth, they came as part of a big collection). Or I'd swap them for a couple of Victorian era collars.
Andrew

I hadn't noticed the tails and thought it was a pair. THANKS!

Thank you, I thought they looked rather aged but must admit Victorian didn't occur to me.

This badge has the Queen's crown so post WWII but an attractive piece. I assume it's a collar badge.
Does anyone know the unit?
THANKS

WWI Austrian helmet
in Germany: Imperial Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Personal Equipment

I posted it because I thought the markings were somewhat unusual and I don't doubt that you gents are correct. But I'm curious how the liner differs from the Austrian one as it's identical to those I found a few stahlhelm pages?
