It's a shame that we couldn't see the back of the star, but thanks anyway to show us there is a higher grade of st Sava of this unknown producer.

If anyone has a similar medal, please post it here for comparation!

Great job you did dismissing the Belgian manufacturer!! As you said all we have to do is to obtain a hallmark or a stamp of the producer... French or Swiss maker?? What do you think of mine? Early Huguenin or French made like two of yours golden painted?? Any insight will do...

Lars, thank you for the photo and a sharp eye!! The saint on the breast star is the same as is on my medal! Do you have a photo of the reverse of the star, there is maybe a stamp of the producer and a solution for our quest???

You there have a fine example of 3rd type1921-1941 neck badge made by Huguenin of Switzerland. 

Do you collect st Savas? I find them one of the most beautiful and most various orders in the world. Do you have some insight about mine and Obi st Savas?

Sorry for the late reply but I was away on business. Thank you for the pictures, your st Sava is a beauty!! I have never seen one like yours before...

Now for the similarities with mine, unfortunately there is none

Your piece is masterfully crafted, mine is crude, your has narrow, wings down eagles, mine wide German like, your suspension is normal for st Savas, mine is weird, your numbers are flat, mine deep, your letters are extremely big, mine small, and the saint looks different....... so I don't think it's the same producer!

How do you know yours is Belgian made? Any hallmarks???

I have acquired yet another mysterious st Sava order, and I want to show it with you and maybe we can together determine its origin!!

IMHO, I think it could be an early Huguenin le Lockle piece, and I mean the earliest type possible, maybe the first or trial type???

Now to elaborate my thoughts: First thing that meets the eye is the suspension under the crown, which I have never met nor seen, and it is not tailored, it is made in the same

manor as the wings of the eagle, very crudely made. It was not tailored instead of usual "tree" shaped suspension, cause there are no traces of removal of the "tree" suspension...

The saint looks mostly like early Huguenin, but maybe even Pires, those two has similar saints. Third thing about this order which is different than any other are the numbers, they

are very thick and crudely made. They are over 1 mm thick, compared to other Savas numbers 0,3-0,5 mm, makes a difference....

So, Paul, Rogi, Paja and other gentleman, please help with your advice, maybe 8,10,20 eyes have seen more than the two of mine

p.s. I'm posting the saint pictures of early Huguenin and Pires to compare it wit, but they are pretty small, so if someone has a better pictures please share....

About a "checker" on the ribbon of king Zvonimir medal it is as Paul has said a personal idea of feng-shui

Some of the recipients taught that the medal will be "nicer" by adding something more on them, and maybe this guy didn't want to wear the miniature ribbon of War commemorative sign, so he joined those two together! I suspect that the little coat of arms is from the miniature of War commemorative sign, or maybe the sign itself(I'm not sure about the size of your medal coat of arms)

This is Serbian order of the White Eagle, it depends of the size which class it is. If this is the higher grade do you maybe have a star or a ribbon to determine the class, cause first three grades have this medal of the same size.

Oh I have forgot to say that if it is a small dimension than it is 4. or 5. class. 4. class gilded, 5. class not gilded.

About the item, my first taught was that this is the center piece of this badge, but year is totally wrong, there is no hole/holes in the eagle chest to hold the letter E, and why hallmark part of the badge when you hallmark the back of the whole badge??? So I taught it was maybe some older jeton or something...

Recently I got in one french group of militaria an interesting double eagle badge with faded st George on its chest with crossed cannons under its talons, and since I'm no Imperial Russian badge expert I begun investigating. Since I don't have related books I started browsing the net, but found nothing... then I switched to Russian alphabet and found out that I have an Odessa artillery graduation badge in silver, 32,51g, 51x46mm, unmarked( except of the faintly hand engraved number 141 or 14M?), with crown. It seems that after the end of the empire the badges were issued without a crown since the school continued to work!

I want to ask you gentleman does anyone knows how many of those badges were issued with and without the crown? There were also other variant of the badge, bronze with silver gilt, the same dimension, but 10g. heavier... why two variations, or are there any more variations? I know these are hard questions, but I know there are some passionate superbeings who can answer those.

Do the painted version always have the same type of pin, and the enameled have the other kind of pins or do they booth came with mixed pins?? And what about badges with red painted letter U, I have heard that some of those are originals as well, not all of course! Speaking of badges with red U, Barry sold one of those recently for nice price.....

Hello my respected colleagues!!

I recently stumbled across one unusual medal, very thin(1mm), 37,5 cm diameter in brass(I think), but it's very worn off.

There is double head eagle, and cyrillic letters, probably Imperial Russian, maybe Serbian or Bulgarian?
