I still think they could have done a much better job with medal itself, and the ribbon.
The medal is very similar the the Defense DSM and Superior Svc.
I would have made the ribbon a AF blue with white stripes, not red and gold. It's kinda hard on the eyes

David S. is a lucky man indeed. Great research! Bravo
Ricky is the lucky one, he now has custody

Rick
You are THE one true Master of the unknown ribbon bars

Here are two more pics
If I remember correctly he created and awarded himself the title C.B.E. (Conquerer of the British Empire)

Now if we can only follow the chain of custody back to the DAMM owner it would be spectacular !!
I NEVER had any pretense of an idea of that bar being identified . . . but Ricky (the Ribbon Bar Master) did it

I would take it the first ribbon is for a British Expiditionary Force to Vietnam?
Not British . . . issued to the 50,000 Australian and New Zealand troops who served in Vietnam from 1964 to 1973
Established in 1968 and called The Vietnam Medal

Are the Officer Registries available in a book/collected copied document format? Available at military bookstores & so forth?
They are in a bound format published by and for the US Army, distribution is limited
Published in two volumes-
Volume 1 shows Active duty Officers only, more of a bio format
Volume 2 shows Active, NG, USAR and other officers, the format is basic info only
Not found in military bookstores
Sometimes found at used bookstores in the military section
Most of mine were found on eBay, one was found in a used bookstore
There are Navy and Marine registers as well, but harder to find
