THE BAD NEWS
My gut says no on the top bar.
It could very well be genuine but I have a concern with the combination of Olympic, Luftschutz, March 1938, and October 1938 medals.
The last two would be acceptable, or the Olympic or Luftschutz individually. I have a problem with all four on there.
Also it looks like swords were taken off the KVK2.
THE GOOD NEWS
The bottom bar looks good to me. No problems. A WW1 vet with police service.

Coooool!!!!
They look Argentine (similiar design and form).
Uruguay and surrounding areas have different looking ribbons.
Antonio's magnificent reference site is here. Page 3 and 4 of Argentina have similiar to yours.

Cate Blanchett will STILL not give up everything for me.
I wondered why until I saw a list of her movies . . . she played Galadriel in the LOTR trilogy.
Ricky . . . you have patience and can wait her out and wear her down with your abilities and Yankee charm.
Actually you'll probably find a family connection for you and her and then what . . .
I myself will wait until Jenny Agutter is available again !!!!

A great reference !!
BTW that is a wonderful site you have made. I have spent a considerable amount of time reading the 'stories'.
Your hard work and love of the subject shows.

I've got the Technicians as well but I just posted the rarely seen.
I gravitate more towards the strange and unusual.
Check out my South African goodies (albeit few) in the World Militaria section.

You mean these beasties
I have a few.
Top is a USMA Cadet Battalion Sergeant Major circa 1950s.
Bottom is USMA Cadet Regimental Operations Officer (old version).
Waaaaaay to many variations for USMA.
Haven't seen many references for VMI or Citadel.

Ed . . . you might be thinking of Aviation Cadet during WW2. They were different.
Here's a graphic from the same site as the previous.

Is it possible that posts 4-7 are military academy chevrons, rotated 180 degrees?
Here is a graphic from a site that is no longer working.
They ARE quite odd.

More sleeve insignia of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)
This time for Detectives when in uniform, most are plainclothes.
1) Detective I
2) Detective II. More experience. Supervises I's.
3) Detective III. Supervises I & II's.

To end some things that are rarely seen.
They are non-military.
Sometimes when seen, the situation is far from good.
Sleeve insignia of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)
1) Senior Lead Officer. Basically a junior field supervisor. Two chevrons alone is Training Officer.
2) Watch Commander . . . the most senior rank before Management ranks.

Now for some odd ones. Unofficial but worn in the 1930s.
The rank is that of Private First Class - Specialist 6th Class.
The seller told me that it was just a ordinary current chevron.
They were a matched pair

Needless to say these are Army Air Corps.
Private First Class and Corporal.
Unofficial but worn.

Next is a Chemical Corps Sergeant (a matching set).
Possibly pre WW1.

I don't have a large collection (yet), just accumulating at present.
I like the unusual and odd.
We'll start with WW1 era.
Here is a Company Supply Sergeant and a Battalion Sergeant Major. Infantry I believe.

Looks WW2 vintage.

The next belongs to the South West Africa Territorial Force.
The rank is for Sergeant.

Some Army NCO chevrons next . . . Corporal and Sergeant.
These are big, this pic is at 70% of original.

Luftwaffe Flak officer
in Germany: Third Reich: Research, Documentation & Photographs
Posted
Difficult at best.
I don't any Luftwaffe Officer Lists have surfaced as of this post (if they ever existed at all).
If he were a General maybe, but a Captain.
