    1. Very nice collection

Here is a 1914 Erfurt Artillery, considered one of "Holy Grail" of Artillery Lugers, marked L.M.K. 26 (Leichte-Munitions-Kolonnen or Light munitions columns) http://www.legacy-collectibles.com/rare-1914-erfurt-artillery.html

      Thanks.........

Saw that and it went fast too, so didn't anther one that I put a member here onto that's been looking. Missed out in less than a day.

I know of a 1915 Saxon MGK. In late 1914 they designated it "artillery" when in fact it was first designated the "Lange" model and the first model with a stock lug, it was because of that model that all Lugers began being produced with stock lugs. Government owned Erfurt first produced them but late 1914 DWM took over production control. I went to sleep last night thinking about it. But....it's Christmas and I have a lot of lady friends to buy for. ;)

    2. I got married in May of 67 in the old Army tan Class A's. They were being phased out 1 July of 67 and were on markdown in the PX, so I bought a set. They were Officer with the strips around the bottom of the sleeves and down the outside of each leg. I had them removed which then turned them into enlisted. I got married in them and then gave them to a buddy who wore them home a week later and ETS'd.

Everybody later in their career had a tailored made set of double-knit TW's (Tropical Wear) to wear in place of Khakis when not in formation. Mine were made by Sang Woo out of Hong Kong, no career noncom returned from Nam without a set of Sang Woos. TW's went on until khakis were deleted from the duffle-bag but before they did, the discontinued long sleeve khakis and the material changed from cotton to a cotton mix but they still looked like crap.

    3. Thanks very much for the comments. Those Luger stands are machine made by a friend out in NM with health problems and sometimes takes awhile but when he gets one done, I'm his best customer. The one stand that my Signal Abt Luger is on is a cheapy off the internet, it is OK as a temporary but the difference shows when on display.

As you know, I've been seeking the right Bavarian MG Luger for sometime now but with four MG unit marked Lugers on hand, I'm been leaning more to an Bavarian Infantry Unit marked one to go in the left case. I did have the MG Lugers displayed with other State items but like all collectors do, displays are constantly improved, changed and/or move around, I'm no exception. A member, who's name I will not mention, has been wanting me, begging me, insisting that I acquire an Artillery unit marked Luger :) but I've really no interest unless he's ticks me off and then I might acquire a whole case full and display them as an avatar. :) But, Christmas around the corner and expenses have been turned in that direction until next year. What I have coming to finish off the Sanitats and Signal display will be it for awhile.

      Cheers..............

    4. Left case:

Saxon: 100 Regt, 139 Regt 2nd Company, 139 Regt 6th Company, 181 Regt unit marked 1915 DWM Luger.

      Bavarian, Prussian, Baden on-going displays

Sanitates on-going display, should be complete by end of next week. The photo displayed is a copy while I await an original coming.

Signal Abteilung on-going display, should also be complete 7-10 days along with a uniform Luger display stand.

    5. Thought I would pass time by posting some shots of certain displays I've been working on. Some are complete and some are still on going. My displays revolve around the Imperial nit marked Luger within the displays as compliments to enhance the total display and fall far short of many displays/collections by so many members here, although I have tried to receive contributions from so many of those same members, none have arrive yet although I have been told, they are in the post.

The display case on the right I have dedicated it to Machinegun/Machinegunners and related items/related to everyone; ie, Iron Crosses.

    6. Holy Cow!! that's an awesome little 1871 veterans' bar. is it yours? :0

Going back to the first medal bar, the wording will be:"Thur. Landesmaennerverein v.(on) R.Kr." (roterKreuz) ....aNd below the cross "Fuer truer Mitarbeit" (one adds an e to a word in German where there's an umlaut and one does not have that phonic symbol upon ones iPhone) .

The medal was awarded in 1922-1935 (maybe longer in the Third Reich, but doubtful). I think it was authorized in 1921.

The other medal Rogi pointed out on pg. 2 is for a different State DRK association.

Yes it's mine, I'll have it in a week's time. I got it to add to a Sanitats display. Did you read my posts with other questions?

"Going back to the rack, the EKII was for wartime service but the Saxe-Weimar, Silver Merit Cross was only issued up to 1901. correct? If so, this guy was all over the place, 1901, 1914-1918, 1925 and 1922. Am I wrong in my thoughts?

When you said 1922+, does that means the years or when it began to be awarded?"

    7. sweet! Dienstauszeichnung des Thueringer Landesvereins von Roten Kreuz, 1. Stufe. Number 232 of the DRK book, given for 10 years service in the Thuringian Landverein DRK (1922+) ....made by Conrad of Weimar.

      GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks.
