My 2 cents - construction screams "not German". Especially the way the central plaque is attached to the main cross - bent prongs thru holes...I cannot recall a two-piece German-Manufactured Badge in the pre-war period that didn't use rivets to join the two pieces together.

Wow - what a letdown. I thought I had something special! Anyway, thanks for the info, as I would hate to sell something under a false premise.

Below is a serial numbered 1935 RPT Badge.

Here are a few unique tinnies I own.

Here is the Obverse and Reverse of a high-quality gilded bronze 1935 Reichparteitag Badge with the Serial Number 1790 stamped into it's Reverse.

I have been told Serial Numbered RPT's were reserved for Rally VIPs. Is this true? Is there any correlation between the RPT Serial Number, and an individual's Golden Party Badge number? Anyone with a Value estimate?

I'd have to agree that the KVK w/o Swords is Post-WWII. The "5" almost looks like an "S". Since that was the manufacture's calling card, I doubt they would sign their product so sloppily. Even late-war zinc pieces that have I have examined, where the finish is gone, the manufacture's stamp (if present) is always strong and clear.

Here are a couple of photos of an unissued civilian shooting medal I just obtained. Please note the idiot at Staples photocopied it showing the medal's Obverse with the Ribbon's Reverse, and visa-versa. I have noticed the following oddities:

1) Swastika in center of Iron Cross. Indicates to me manufacture post 9/1939.

2) No maker mark - anywhere.

3) How about that ink-stamped Party Eagle on the Ribbon REVERSE?

My questions are the usual:

1) Who or Which Organization?

2) Anyone come up with a more specific date of manufacture?

3) Medal Purpose? (Other than the obvious - a shooting award!)

4) Any Value estimates?

The German Red Cross 2nd Class Service Medal generally peaks around $100.00.

It may be possible, but the primary organization you refer to was properly called the Reich Association of Jewish Combat Veterans (RVJK, I believe). It may be possibly, that this is from a sister organization, like you suggest.

Anyone with more info or ideas?

OOPS! I really wasn't paying attention to my typing! Obviously, the initials of the organization in question is J-V. D-K - NOT J-D. V-K., as I erroneously typed! Sorry!

I would agree with your assessment of R, D, and V (at least, that's where I was headed). As for the A, how about "Ausrichtung" - an alternative for "Organization"? IE: Reichs Ausrichtung der Deutschen Volksgesundheitsbewegung? Does someone have another idea, or know for sure?

As a side note, if find it fascinating to learn a organization would be allowed to exist some 4 and 1/2 years after the Nazi seizure of power, and hold meetings without using the swastika somewhere in its badge or a meeting tinnie...it is definitely saying the organization was non-political in nature!

This is an interesting tinnie I recently acquired. The legend around the edge of the tinnie (in German) states: "1. Reichstreffen der Deutschen Volksgesundheitsbeweging in Düsseldorf". My translation into English comes out as "1st National Meeting of the German People's Health Movement in Dusseldorf". The central design is the city of Dusseldorf's Heraldic Crest emblazoned upon a shield. My preliminary research leads me to believe this was a meeting of one of the pseudo-holistic health groups that believed that better health was achieved by practising public nudism. This may have something to do with the establishment of the nude beach area near Dusseldorf. I believe this tinnie dates from the early 1920's to possibly the early 1930's.

My Questions Are:

1) What is the correct date of this tinnie? I'd like to get it at least to the year the meeting was held.

2) What does RADV stand for? (No - this is not some derivative of Reichs Arbeits Dienst!)
