I have some more information.

Someone has told me that this is a specialist medal. It shows what a soldier is specialized in. It usually goes with another pin which either has a 1, 2, 3 or an M on it denoting how good he is.

If this is true what specialty is this, and how do i know if it is an original or a fake?

I think that it is a Russian medal.

Any information on this medal would be great.
