Hello - I'm a new member of the forum. I was delighted to see these pictures of the Dorsetshires in 1905, since I suspect that my grandfather, William George Richardson was a Private in the battalion at that time. Indeed the name "Richardson" appears in the list (near the top left of the gateway), but unfortunately without an initial! (Initials are given after each surname.) The name is also out of alphabetical order, for some reason.
WGR's discharge papers may be at The National Archives (perhaps under WO 97/5773) - I'm hoping they will appear on findmypast.co.uk sometime...
Does anyone know where the Battalion Nominal Roll might be located, if it still exists?
