    1. Don't worry David, I asked the question about "familiar" because I wanted more explanation. Ribbon bars aren't my field and I know that fakes/new assemblies are running the market nowadays. This one is mint and I needed some advice to comfort my purchase. It can be genuine / new assembly with good spareparts / totally fake ; I tend for the first and asked for other knowledgeable opinions. You're welcome and thanks for your comments. This one came from the auction www.militaria.de , Torsten Sch?ler alias "Thor1918". jacques
    2. Hi Rick, That's the same way for me with these ribbons bars. I've nothing in my hands to compare. I have another good one with no backing, and a third original one which seems to have the same kind of backing. These one is new, mint condition . Can't say more.
    3. What do you mean by "familiar" ? Familiar good, or familiar fake ? I got it on Militaria.de jacques
    4. It was a present from a very good friend . He will recognize himself
    5. The LC had a Flak Abt. named F88. It was composed of : 1936: - Light 20mm AA battery - Heavy 88mm AA battery ''Aldinger" 1938: - 3 Heavy 88mm batteries (1,2,3) - 2 Light 20mm Batteries (4,5) - 1 Heavy Battery formerly Searchlight (6) - 1 Support Battery, Amunition column (7) - 1 Heavy battery formerly the 1936 "Aldinger" (8) - 1 Training Battery for spanish recruits (9) The members of these batteries brought back plaques commemorating their LC unit. These plaques were locally made in thin sheet metal and often nailed on a wood plate. Generally these plaques wore the unit number on the top. The first one is almost special, because it is from the 4th Light battery, and the employed metal is very heavy.
    6. Let share here the various miscelaneous spanish hand made souvenirs brought back by the LC members. The troops still use to bring back from operations such "souvenirs". Here is a leather Portfolio and wallet, both named.
    7. May be the crosses came all in blue boxes , that look pretty good too ! (the presentation was realized for the picture only )
    8. Here is the blue case with the LDO logo onto the lid. (I'm looking for this variant ). The cross is a Meybauer stamped with the coat of arms and "900" silver content (credit DN).
    9. Yes, that's for the same man. I own few small groups like this one. I'm not really interested by large groups, but by small one with spanish war related documents. I try to find all the SC documents variants for the different classes. I'm looking for the document of the spanish cross in bronze without sword attributed to a Navy member. jacques
    10. Hi, I got this recently, what do you guys think ? Rick, I need your advice . jacques
    11. Here is a small group. Note the different date on this one.
    12. I do know some gold crosses, but saw very few cases ! Here is the common blue case
    13. The document accompaning the medal
    14. The "medalla de la campa?a" with a green stripes ribbon for non-combattant personel.
    15. The pictures of the 3 LC commanders (except Volkmann, because I didn't find a closer pics of him) don't show that they are wearing a medal with diamonds. I would tend to think that which was writen about it is wrong or misunderstood. Wait for more comments. jacques
    16. Here is a "medalla Militar" with diamonds.
    17. I checked the picture of von Richthofen, Speerle & Volkman. I found no picture showing them with a "Medalla Militar" with diamonds. Even the pics are a little bit blured, I can't see diamonds ! Here is von Richthofen on June the 6th of 1939 in Berlin.
    18. I found this "Medalla Militar" in my files. This is not diamonds but seems to be a silver thread sticked to the medal. Panzerpionnier, what's your opinion about this medal ? Can you identify a spanish manufacturer ?
    19. I suppose these cases have a cross inside , at least mine do have
    20. The topic title sound better now I think that I have somewhere in my files pictures of spanish officer with this kind of medal. I will post them next friday. The following picture shows Speerle with the "Medalla Militar" he was awarded. But I can't see any diamonds on it. It seems that there is a large circle around the center design but no diamond. I'll try to find good pics of von Richthofen. If the pics of these 3 commanders taken during the 6th June parade don't show the diamonds, we should have an illustrated opinion on this topic. jacques
    21. To follow on the original topic, this picture shows SPEERLE during the 6 June Berlin parade with a different cap than on the previous picture taken in Spain. This one doen't show any egle but only the spanish insignia. jacques
    22. Gentlemans discussion is open
    23. Please fellows, cool down ! No matter to become nervous in that forum. As I say: "rester calme et boire frais" ! I'm not at home to search and post some pics to illustrate this thread.I open another thread to deal with this diamonds upgraded spanish Military Medal. jacques
    24. Bender's book "Legion Condor Uniforms, Organization and History" is excellent, but as every one, it contains some errors, due to lack of documentation at this time, or other reasons. Indeed these high rank officers seem to wear on some pics (I remember not where I saw them) the Military Medal with a kind of diamond wreath (Spanish high commanders wore it too). nevertheless, this is against spanish regulations. Jewelers' made, private purchase, ? I can't answer this , but it should be interesting ! May be we can open a thread about these special class of Military Medal. jacques
    25. I think you got a fake broken CCC. the MM, the catch system dont match with original. jacques
