Here are marching for the Berlin parade Oberst PLOCHER and OTL Torsten CHRIST

On this photo, I guess Major Hertzer is photographed on left. He was commanding the Gruppe Wolm (Signals) of the Imker Gruppe. Note that he is wearing the "Medalla Militar" but also the special badge of this unit on his laft arm. The picture was surely taken on June 3rd 1939 in D?beritz, just after the awards ceremony leaded by von Thoma and von Brauchitsch.

No Scott, it is the Rettungsmedaille.

Memellandes medal

He enlisted the Army in 1931, Oberleutnant in 1941 and ended the war as Hauptmann. He was instructor after 1941, I guess it is why he didn't get the DK.

here is his spanish cross in gold. It is a Juncker manufacture marked "900". He wrote with a charcoal pencil under the hinge.

DARREL : you're right, there is something wrong with the medals bar evnen though it comes directly out of the family. the second spanish medal ribbon is the same as for the medalla de la campana, but suspends a Oct 38 medal , and there is no entry of the Austria annexion medal within the Wehrpass. RICK: the yugo gold medaille document is dated 4 july 1938, and the official german document is dated 4 nov 1938. The pilot badge attribution is entered within the wehrpass on May 28, 1938 I have all the documents, except the Ehrenpokal with was awarded on oct 6, 1940. jacques

Hi checked around 400+ period pictures showing portraits with spanish cross worn from all branches (LW, Heer , KM) and didn't find one, enough clear, that can undoubtly proove the drop tail eagle as a period manufacture. I keep digging, but I'll soon find water... jacques

There is to my knowledge no written rule. I just observed on period pictures and individual documents that The Medalla militar was followed by gold cross, the "Cruz de guerra" by gold and silver cross. red military cross by silver cross, white military cross by silver and bronze cross.

Hi, No, around 100 Medalla Militar were awarded to german soldiers, and around 1100 spanish crosses in gold were awarded. jacques

Some manufacturers have eagles with a not so spreaded tail. this cross is original , and the eagle tail could easily ,on a blurry picture, make the confusion.

I don't think that we can assert on the base of these blurry pictures, that crosses with drop tail eagles are period made. I don't think these crosses original because until know, I never saw one with good reputable original pin/hook/hinge. Nevertheless, I'm ready to change my opinion if I can see a period picture showing clearly such cross (not these two pics) and if I see a cross with a good pin/hinge and no re-soldered eagles. Honestly, I never scrutinized my pics to find such details, but I will do. It should be a revolutional discovery, at least for me ! jacques
