Hello there fellow members. I thought I would take the time to post a photo of my Handschar tunic. It is 100% authentic and untouched. As you can see its an HBT tunic with full insignia. I purchased this tunic about 5 months ago, after a long 13 year search for an untouched original Handschar Tunic. The fez I aquired from a vet of the Handschar division in 1993.

Apparently the file size is too large to upload here. I am at work, and can not change the size of the photos. If someone here has the capability, please let me know, and I will email the photos for posting. Thanks.

Dr. Jones,
I would be interested in seeing the tunic you mentioned. Why dont you start a thread on it?
Regards
Paul
Sure. I am here at work, and only have one photo on this PC. If you want I will email it to you, and you can post it here, then I will follow-up with some better shots. The shot is sorta far, its a shot of my den.

For a basic refrenc on this unit read the divisional history 'Himmler's Bosnian Division' by George Lepre which I posted a review on. It has the names of the officers of the 13. Waffen-Gerbigs-Division der SS 'Handschar' (kroatische Nr.1) in it. Give me a name of your former Untersturmf?hrer friend and I will search him up for you. A nice photo though, with the details on the M42 tunic and Ostmadaille ribbon.

Chris,
Great photo. By chance did this person keep any of his uniforms etc? I recently obtained an 100% untouched Hanschar Tunic from the Imperial War Museum, its the only other authentic example I have come across since 1994. If he did have any, did you get them?

Thanks for the heads up, I will look. I was stationed with VMGR-352 out of El Toro. I was an 0231 (Intel).

Welcome Dr. Jones (I always think of Aqua when i hear that)!
Which was your Marine unit?
Pity you missed Chris b.-he's on a plane to Cambodia over the Arabian desert at the mo-
but he actually knew quite well a vet. officer of the Handschar. he has good stories.
Do a search and you'll find some stuff.

A very warm welcome, Doc.
Just watch out for those Imperial guys, just a bunch of reprobates.
Duely noted! Thanks

Hello fellow members,
Just wanted to give a quick intro about myself. My name is Dan (Doctor Jones). I have been collecting militaria since I was in grade school. I served 4 years in the US Marine Corps as an Intel Specialist. I am now 33 years old, and the military collecting has only become worse...LOL! in 1993 I began to focus my efforts on Waffen-SS, specificly the 13th Handschar Division. I look forward to healthy, earnest discussions, and the opprotunity to learn from my fellow brothers in arms.
