Hello Normandie,
Un-marked Chobillon varieties like this are rarely seen without the BRONZE or 'AC'. I have a couple in my collection which have a more copper finish than a darker bronze as well as one that is in a Kretley Maison box.
A good pick-up of a more difficult to obtain sub-variety of the Chobillon design.

RobHi Rob,
Thank you for adding this extra detail to my medal. At first I was worried if this one is a later restrike, but knowing that a rare unmarked version also extists is really good to know. Many thanks again for your input.
Kind regards,
Bence

Hello Bill,
Thank you for your quick reply and the feedback on the medal. It is good to know that this piece is an original period item, it will be a great addition to my victory medal collection.
Many thanks again for your help.

Dear All,
I would like to ask for your opinion on my Czech victory medal. All details look correct to me, only the ribbon is a replaced one (looks like a british ribbon).
The only thing that concerns me is the damaged/dented part on the right side of the obverse of the medal. Is it some regular damage happened during the years or the medal is a restrike/copy and that small "fault" coming from the lower quality strike?
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Bence

Hi All,
I'm a new member on the forum and would be interested in your opinions on the below medal. I'm collecting Interallied Victory Medals for 3 years now and after a short break I'm planning to expand my collection.
This French unofficial Chobillon piece is my latest find but the signature 'bronze' and triangle stampings on the rim are missing from the medal. Is it an original piece or a fake medal? Pictures below:

Dear All,
I recently added this Portuguese Victory Medal to my collection.
I have checked the previous discussion on the different types and as I understand this one is an official type 2 version. Am I right with this idea? Is this a period, first strike piece?
Another thing I would like to ask for your opinions. The ribbon of the medal is sadly frayed so I'm thinking about adding some period ribbon material as a replacement. I tried to compare the ribbon material to my other Victory Medals and the closest one in color, touch I found was the ribbon of the French Morlon Victory Medal. Are the portuguese used a distinctive ribbon type for their Victory Medals like the czech or an original period Morlon type ribbon would be a good replacement for this?
Many thanks in advance for your replies.
Kind regards,
Bence
