Thanks Stogie!
So the 1866 Bavarian medal is rather common with this Austrian type fold? i had no idea.... i thought ( at first) that this was a rather uncommon type of presentation for this medal...
but on an original ribbon...is good eh!
when i seen this one....i just HAD to have it...... so nice and uncomplicated...
and a good representation of the medal in its singular entity..( had originally been looking for a medal on its own for the bar posted earlier..will still get one for this..anyone got one..?)
am also looking for one singular one mounted in the bavarian style...the trapezoid...have a display case with bars from this era..all trapezoid..and want one of these to compliment it... Anyone????? hint hint..(shameless plug! hee hee..)
thanks gents!

Annnd!.... not to mention its another classic example of the HK being added.... as the ribbon furling at reverse shot depicts...it is different from the original two...
ammunition for the archives....but it IS interesting to see that in the interests of economy (perhaps) the tailor just added the HK with a minimum of fuss ( not to mention the minimum of ribbon folding... ) perhaps on a contractor basis....PUMP dem out boy! ....ve must make a profit dis veek!...
not many bars we see with HK added are all folded the same way....
its ok...we can live with that...at least they are not FAKES!
ooops better get another single malt...calm down boy!

Hello Gents,
I have spotted a Victory medal engraved the official way to a Labour corps gent.. in a local dealers shop...but his name is resoundingly english ....but i cannot remember the exact name, but for sure it was not Indian or Chinese.. but i do remember it had his name and then Labour Corps...thats all,.. oh! and a number preceding of course...
But as Ed would point out...there are many Indian chaps who had english sounding names...
Hmm, are these particularly scarce...
Maybe i should just buy it so we can have it for our archives...
all amnunition for the archives gents...gotta know gotta know...
let me know about it if anyone knows anything...am really curious now...
Kind regards
Paul

Hello Gents,
Here i am wandering over to this forum to ask the more knowledgeable gents for their advice.
I came across these items,
I know the tabs are for a Abschnittsleiter, one has the RZM tag on the back
the Armband...Hmmm, what rank?
And lastly how much would this little lot be worth?
Thanking ye kindly
Regards

Hi Tony,
have bought the two rolls.
Will suss out the shipping for you and let you know the cost.
You are in the UK?
I'll just snip off a small piece of the Long and efficient service medal ribbon ( about 40mm for my medal reference charts) and send over the piece of original ribbon i have here for you.
If you know of anyone who may need the CBE neck ribbon just send them my way will ya...
How much do the TFWM go for?
Cheers
Paul

hi Tony,
so you have a small piece of the ribbon?
Yes i know the ribbons on TradMe you mention, its back on a 1M roll for $15
I can buy this and the roll of Territorial ribbon for you if you want it
i asked the seller if they were of original stock...he said they were modern copy ribbon from a specialist ribbon maker in the UK
My ribbon is original, so if you want it...its yours.
Now i am gonna look for a Territorial medal for the ribbon, the yellow striped one....
So the CBE, is it? not OBE? militay ribbon is hard to find...what shall i say its worth?
I wanna swap for Imperial goodies or perhaps on a Territorial medal....
Cheers
Paul

Hi Tony,
Aaaah! i see....
the long service one is an early one isn't it..pre ww1? Hmmm, i need a small piece for my ribbon ID charts...and dont really want to cut this up, as then it would be too short for a medal...have you a short piece of this ribbon to trade?
the other greenish one ...well its the NZ Afghanistan Primary operational service medal ribbon...according to this site here...
heres the direct link... http://medals.nzdf.mil.nz/category/c/c8a.html
so the yellow one with the green stripes is a WW1 Territorial force medal?
thanks for that info...good for my ribbon ID database....which is getting bigger and bigger daily!
I have attached a pic of another Ribbon i have...
Maybe a Gent here, has the medal for it? as this is the complete Neck ribbon for the OBE Militay with fastenings and is in great shape! will swap this for Imperial goodies...

Hi Tony,
Sure..if i have it, the Prison ribbon...what does it look like?
As for the LSGC...Hmm, the longest length i have is 90mm long, i guess i could send over 2 lengths to make a decent length
Have enclosed a pic, the first one is the NZ LSGC
the second is the Territorial services decoration
What are the other two??
Anyone know?

and the minatures too!

And another unnamed grouping
As suggested by Darrell, to show them here , ( more appropriate)
This set came with a set of minatures..so i know they were all together as a set...
And another set...the pair came with a NZ medical corps badge...
Its a nice badge with the lettering at bottom a separate pressed on piece of metal a different colour too!

Hello Gents,
Picked up this lot of ribbons for the princely sum of $21 NZD!
needed some to complete a grouping that was missing 2 ribbons, the medal group is in the second pic...just neede a War medal ribbon and a NZ service medal ribbon...which this lot had plenty of!
otherwise i would have had to go to my local stamp shop in CHCH and pay $5 per ribbon!
There are some modern medal ribbons there...lots of UN and NZ medal ribbons
Had some fun trying to identify them!!
If there is a particular ribbon anyone needs just let me know...and its yours!

Bavarian bar! Just arived!
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States
Posted
Evening Gents,
This lovely bar arrived in the post!
Simply magnificent!
One thing i learnt today...is that the Bavarian DA is available in two classes...II and III
This bar has the II class in a gold type of wash...whereas the III class is Silver.....
The MVK...is this whats known as a MVK 2nd class? mit schwertern???
The EK is maker marked "Z" or is it "N"?? the HK marked PSL in a circle
A keeper! for sure as its got a nice felt backing...and the bar is vaulted to fit the wearers chest
